Argo Capital Management Limited is an alternative investment management company specialising in emerging markets. Argo is ranked highly in the financial markets world, recently taking the Best Distressed Securities Fund, Europe 2013 Award at the World Finance Hedge Funds Awards.

Argo Capital Management’s support to their clients in the financial market is heavily reliant on a fully functioning, dependable and steadfast IT system. Argo recognised that in order to support their clients’ high expectations, they needed to ensure that their network has the best inbreed proactive monitoring and have a IT support team they can trust and rely on, to deal with any IT matters.

Argo decided to review their IT support provider, due to consistent slow response times, dealing with junior engineers, slow fix times, lack of strategic IT future planning and poor general customer service. To this end, Argo made the business decision to put their IT support out to tender.

Argo initially met one of Virtual Tech’s technical account managers. From the first meeting Argo were impressed with Virtual Tech’s friendly yet professional approach. Virtual Tech’s technical account manager discussed Argo’s recent issues, reviewed their existing network, offered logical technical advice and put together a bespoke IT support plan for the next 3 years.

This plan consisted of Virtual Guard Proactive monitoring, Virtual Guard 2 x senior dedicated engineers and vCloud Recovery to provide a secure backup and disaster recovery solution.

Argo were initially concerned that the suggested plan, would cost a lot more than the current IT budget, however they were pleasantly surprised to find the whole package cheaper than their existing arrangement, while offering a much more comprehensive and inclusive service.

Virtual Tech then invited Argo on a tour around their Tier 4 financial grade datacentre and introduced Argo to their new dedicated senior engineers. Argo were extremely impressed with Virtual Tech’s best of breed technology, Methodologies, technical ability and how approachable all the Virtual Tech team are.

Argo decided to partner with Virtual Tech on an on-going basis. On the first day the dedicated Argo engineers resolved an issue, which the previous IT company had been working on for the past 4 months. This high level service has continued throughout Argo and Virtual Tech’s partnership.

While going through the tender process Virtual Tech also demonstrated their audit, technical planning and procurement ability, by designing a new IT infrastructure, better suited for Argo’s needs and nearly £50,000 cheaper then the previous IT company.
